![]() ![]() This will not however work with scripts, as theyre all saved to the same folder from steam, but accessed in two different folders offline. The idea here is to create a hard link syncing online and offline data, for example, keeping your mods synced so you can download something from the workshop, and itll automatically work offline without internet, too. Method #2 making (mostly) everything automated: To do this youll need to know how to use symlinks in windows, which you can google, Im not getting that deep into this since I didnt do this method. This method doesnt address saves, but the next one should. This one I took the time to rename to make it easier on myself, though be warned none of the ingame information is available until you load it onto a programmable block (Thus why I renamed each). Find that in the mods folder, and move it to the IngameScripts\local folder. (for me this isnt an issue as I play with the same mods on all my games)įor the scripts, youll need to look in the steam workshop at the script, and get the Workshop ID. ![]() Be warned however in game you wont be able to see the mod name unless you rename each mod folder, youll see the workshop ID instead. Once all 3 are opened, you can copy the entirety of the workshop content folder into the local mods folder, and theyll appear in a game without an internet connection, no unzipping needed. Local Scripts folder: %appdata%\SpaceEngineers\IngameScripts\local Local mods folder: %appdata%\SpaceEngineers\Mods Workshop content folder, where mods and scripts are currently downloaded: (steam install directory)\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\244850 Once done, youll need to find 3 different folders: Method #1: First things first, go ahead and grab some mods from the workshop, and load a game to ensure theyre fully downloaded (I ran into an issue with a few not fully downloading until I launched them in game). Ill be discussing two methods, one is manual, and the other should be theoretically mostly automatic if you find yourself offline a lot. I should warn everyone, while this is fully tested and working for me (at least the first method) I cant promise its an end all guide, and Im not very good with his stuff so if theres any issues I probably cant help. I spent the last few hours scavenging the interweb, and wasnt able to find a great how to guide that works with the latest update (1.194.211), so I figured I would throw one together in hopes someone might find it helpful. Im getting ready to go on a camping trip where I wont have access to decent internet/wifi for about a month, and I realized a problem I recall having a few years ago: Mods and scripts dont work offline out of the box (Thanks Keen! /sarcasm). Hey all, Ive recently come back to space engineers, and I'm enjoying my time playing once again. ![]()
